Learning How to Link Scenes and Use Keyboard Controls

I am currently trying to learn how to link timeline control with keyboard buttons. I am not doing too well at the moment i have been on www.annamorphic.co.uk/flash but am still not understanding the actionscript of the control at all. I need to ask someone in person i think instead as my knowledge of flash is very basic.
